Dreaming with God
World Harvest Church > About Us > Discipleship

A disciple who honors Christ first and has communion or a deep relationship with Him can dream with God and achieve great things for Him.

1. The one thing most desirable
Desiring a strong relationship with God puts you into a higher stage of living.
One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock (Psalm 27:4-5 NKJV).
•  The one thing that the psalmist most desired is to stay in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. He wanted to be close to God's presence always.
•  'To behold the beauty of the Lord' means to appreciate, adore, and praise God for who He is, what He can do, and what He has done. The first thing which the psalmist desired to do in God's presence was to worship Him.
•  'To inquire in His temple' does not just mean to bring up requests. It includes discussing with God and receiving His revelations. The psalmist desired to work with God.
•  The 'secret place' here refers to the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle, in which the presence of God manifests and stays. Staying in God's presence gives you divine protection.
And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:41-42 NKJV).
•  Establishing a close relationship with God is a choice. Such a good choice gives you experiences and benefits that will not be taken away from your life.

2. Into the secret place with God
The 'secret place' is the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle, in which the presence of God manifests and stays.
•  The three sections of the tabernacle signify three levels of our relationship with God.
•  Firstly, the blood of the Lamb of God gives us the access to God's presence (parallels to the altar of burn offering at the entrance of the tabernacle).
•  Secondly, the Word (the table of show bread), prayer (the altar of incense), and testimony (the lamp stand in the holy place) give us the attachment to God's presence.
•  Thirdly, high praise (dense smoke of incense offered in the holy of holies) gives us the covering to minister in a strong manifestation of God's presence.

a. To pray effective prayers
Deep relationship with God ensures effective prayers.
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly (Mathew 6:6 NKJV).
•  In deep communion with God you know what He likes and what He does.

b. To dream great things with God
A deep communion with God gives you the privilege of dreaming with Him.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires (Psalm 37:4 NLT).
•  As you 'take delight' in God, your desires become pure. Desire springs from what you commune with. If you commune with greed or lust, your desires will be greedy and perverse.
We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain (2 Corinthians 6:1 NKJV).
•  We are co-laborers with God. God expects creative co-laboring from us, not a robotic interplay coming totally under remote control. He expects us to exercise our free will to become loving, willing, and responsive co-workers. Seeing God's will as if it completely overtakes your desires and thoughts, leaving no place for your own creative expression, is opposite to what the Bible says. In co-laboring with God, your ideas can change the course of history and your collaborative effort bears your imprint and His.
•  In deep communion, dreams and desires spark dialogue and interaction with God. The Temple was David's idea, but it was so good that God put it in His book and made it a significant part of His work on the planet (see 1 Kings 8:15-17). Forgiving the rebellious Israelites who bowed down at the golden calf was Moses' request but God relented from His decision to remove all of them and to be replaced by Moses' descendants (see Exodus 32:7-14).

c. To receive great revelations from God
Deep communion unlocks deep reservoir of revelation and creativity in you.
You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you (John 15:14-15 NKJV).
•  Love proven in obedience promotes you to a deep friendship with God. He will entrust you with significant revelations. As you listen to Him and accomplish all that He says, you will pick up more revelations from Him (see also Exodus 33:11). God does not take the pearls of revelation—those things that were gained through hardship, conflict, and irritation—and freely throw them out to anybody (see Matthew 13:45-46). He gives revelations to guide those who love Him (see 1 Corinthians 2:9).
•  Understanding attracts greater understanding and more (see Proverbs 14:6). A man of understanding accepts revelations and does not question them. He is not double minded (see also James 1:7-8). Obeying what you already know also attracts more revelations. Jesus would not give the expert of Jewish laws new information but pointed him back to what he already knew (see Luke 10:25-26).
•  Imaginations and ideas recurring throughout the day can be God's downloading of thoughts and ways that are as high as the heavens (see Isaiah 55:9) to be your breakthrough concepts, witty inventions, or great visions.
•  God will communicate with you in various kinds of revelations (scriptures, word of wisdom, a word of knowledge, prophecy, inner witness, prompting of the Holy Spirit, voice of the Holy Spirit, dreams, and visions) for you to operate the kingdom of God.

d. To achieve great results for God
By staying in the 'secret place', you can minister in God's power.
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. … Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him" (John 14:21, 23 NKJV).
•  Deep communion by loving the Lord and obeying Him gives you the habitation of God's presence, from which the Holy Spirit will manifest spiritual gifts through you to benefit people (see 1 Corinthians 12:7-10).
By staying in the 'secret place', you will learn the ways to minister.
Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19 NKJV).
•  Ways of ministry is caught, more than taught. By following the Lord closely, the Twelve had inherited His ways of ministry.
Then He appointed the twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons (Mark 3:14-15 NKJV).
•  In close association with Christ, the Twelve received power to heal sicknesses and cast out demons.
•  In deep communion you can become familiar with the voice of the Holy Spirit, hearing His inner witness, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, prophecy and stirrings in the heart. You will recognize the way He imparts to you faith, gifts of healings, miracles and discerning of spirits.
By staying in the 'secret place', God will multiply your efforts.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:5 NKJV).
•  Deep communion opens a channel of overflowing grace coming on your life and ministry. Your efforts can give results of such great quantity and impact that you will be amazed.
By staying in the 'secret place', you will enjoy continuous success.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you (John 15:16 NKJV).
•  Your ministry will give a long lasting impact when you abide in Christ. With the overflowing of grace coming down from heaven, you will not risk your effort, time, and resources. In this heavenly environment, any of your prayers related with bearing fruits will be answered (see also John 15:7).
