Throughout this journey of spiritual, evangelistic, relational, discipleship, and ministerial developments we position trainees under the influence of competent ministers for mentoring and for the partaking of the anointing through close association.
Ministry Candidate
A church member who feels that he has a vocational calling for spiritual ministry can apply to the Principal for mentoring to test out the calling. This training is also opened to Christians from other churches and overseas.
• After an interview with the Dean or with the Principal, the person is accepted as a Ministry Candidate and placed in a transitioning type of mentoring cell (M17 - M24) for a year.
• He remains in the same Section and continues building his walk with God, winning people to Christ, and learning disciple making.
• The Principal will cover the Ministry Candidate in prayers over twelve months for confirming his calling, observing his life development, and monitoring his performance in the Section in starting his first Fellowship Cell. He either starts all by himself or with one year of assistance from his section and Section Overseer.
• When a candidate eventually realizes he is not called, or the Dean and Principal have assessed that he does not have a calling or unsuitable for entering ministry, he will withdraw from the mentoring.
Ministry Trainee
When a Ministry Candidate gains a firm conviction of his calling during the twelve months and has proven his walk with God, fruitfulness in evangelism, and effectiveness in making disciples through forming his first Fellowship Cell, he is accepted as a Ministry Trainee.
• He is placed in an 'on-the-job training' type of mentoring cell (M9 - M16). He must be willing to lay down his life to help in establishing World Harvest Church and the Vision.
• He will further test his calling by starting his next Fellowship Cell intended to develop into a Section.
• His second and third Fellowship Cell is expected to reach 12 persons each within 24 months. The Ministry Trainee will move from M16 to M8 when he begins to build a Section.
• A Trainee who needs more time to reach the third Fellowship Cell of 12 persons in the third year can apply for an extension of probation (6 to 12 months at the decision of the Dean or Principal).
• Trainees are self-financed.
Ministry Assistant
A Trainee who has proven satisfactory performance in his walk with God, fruitfulness in evangelism, and effectiveness in making disciples is accepted as a Ministry Assistant to expand the Section.
• He becomes a confirmed worker and is placed in a leadership type of mentoring cell (M1 - M8). He must submit to the leadership, mentoring, and discipline of the Vision Carrier of World Harvest Church and to assist him in establishing the Vision.
• He further expands his Section with starting his fourth and fifth Fellowship Cells and begin to have a Discipleship Cell in 24 months.
• This on-the-job training program recognizes your ministry performance together with your academic progress. The Advanced Diploma of Pastoral Ministry is awarded to a Ministry Assistant who has developed five Fellowship Cells or more and fulfilled all the graduation requirements.
• A Ministry Assistant is remunerated according to his productivity in evangelism, mentoring disciples, and developing cells. This remuneration system is designed for both rewarding productivity and generating revenue for the church as a Section grows numerically and in financial strength. With this system, the church can take in as many people who are called to the ministry. This system should not be misconstrued as providing incentive to winning souls. Passion to win the unsaved is your motivation.
Ordination
Ordination is recognizing a Ministry Assistant who has adequately proven his ministry calling and shown his pastoral ability after at least sixty months of observation.
• Ordination requires two diploma-level of ministry qualifications from MTI (Advanced Diploma of Pastoral Ministry and Advanced Diploma of Apostolic Ministry), at least 5 Fellowship Cells and a Discipleship Cell.
• After the ordination, the person will continue to serve in the vision network of World Harvest Church as an Assistant Pastor and come into partnership with the Vision Carrier.
• An ordained person will continue to attend teachings and fulfill all the expectations to qualify for a Bachelor Degree of Ministry.
NOTE: The above Stages of Progress are mainly applicable to World Harvest Church members only. |
