Prophets are empowered by the Holy Spirit to release God's will into action by proclamation, exhortation, and intercession. As fivefold ministers, prophets proclaim God's purposes to form the foundation of new ministries and train believers to operate the prophetic gift to advance the move of God worldwide (see Ephesians 4:11-12). Prophets can impart spiritual gifts with their prophecies (see 1 Timothy 4:14) and seek God's direction for His people, especially in ministry development (see Acts 13:1-4).
Christians with the gift of prophecy minister edification, exhortation, and comfort in prophecies (1 Corinthians 14:3). Prophecy causes a supernatural building up in a person's life. A prophetic exhortation causes him to look ahead at the will of God and a prophetic comfort gives deep assurance within.
Flowing with the prophetic anointing, prophets and prophesying believers can intercede according to God's thoughts and feelings for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
